Rebecca Carter

June 2012, June 2011

Rebecca Carter's works explore states of intimacy and alienation as they shift through reading, touch, and other states of reception. She engages processes of appropriation, tracing, erasing, reconstructing, and the performative in various media, notably the groundless thread drawing and video. She holds an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in Studio/Art History and Women's Studies from Oberlin College.
