Artrageous Art Silent Auction

Teen Art Silent Auction Benefiting Teen Educational Programs at the Dallas Museum of ArtPRE-AP® & AP® STUDIO ART SUBMISSION

An Affair of the Art has been the city’s premier event for young professionals for the past two decades, raising more than $2 million for the DMA since its inception. Last year’s event was a record-breaking success—over 500 of Dallas’s young leaders attended the soiree, raising the funds to completely underwrite a year’s worth of teen educational programs at the DMA. Proceeds from this year's gala will again support programs for teens at the DMA, programs that fill an important community need by providing youth with creative ways to learn about and connect with art.

To showcase the talents of teen artists, the committee would like to include a silent auction of works created by high school students in Pre-AP and AP Studio Art classes in DFW.  Pre-AP and AP Studio Art students are invited to submit an original two-dimensional artwork to be considered for the silent auction. The final student works selected for auction will be chosen by a panel of art consultants, collectors, and a DMA curator.

The Artrageous silent auction will be held September 20, 2014, in the Concourse Gallery at the Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 North Harwood, Dallas, Texas 75201. An evening reception honoring the students, their parents, and teachers will be held that night from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with gala donors and DMA senior staff attending. A reception invitation will be sent in early August to each participating student, their guardian, and teacher. A catalogue may be printed if a donor is found; otherwise there will be a digital catalogue of all the objects at the event.

We look forward to honoring the artistic talents of area high school students during the DMA’s Artrageous: An Affair of the Art 2014 display and reception. The Dallas Museum of Art greatly appreciates your participation in this worthwhile community project to support creative learning experiences for teens.
