Contemporary Photographs: Recent Acquisitions

June 14–August 31, 2008

Concourse

This exhibition features a selection of approximately thirty photographs acquired by the Dallas Museum of Art in the past five years. Ranging in date from the early 1960s to 2007, the works in the exhibition traverse media from traditional gelatin silver prints to the most recent technologies. Of particular note is a trio of portraits by Gordon Parks as well as large-scale color photographs by Stan Douglas and Ted Kincaid, and a set of widely differing views of the American landscape and people by Bruce Davidson, Bill Owens, Frank Gohlke, and Allison V. Smith.

Contemporary Photographs: Recent Acquisitions was organized by the Dallas Museum of Art.
