The music gets underway at 8 p.m. For six weeks, blankets and picnic baskets become the accessories of choice on the Museum’s Ross Avenue Plaza and in the Sculpture Garden as families and friends experience some of the finest local, national, and international artists on the jazz scene.

Following is the 2005 schedule:

May 12 Pete Christlieb/The Steve Sonday Trio

May 19 The James Gilyard Ensemble

May 26 Hiromi

June 2 Rosana Eckert

June 9 Norte de Havana

June 16 The John Adams Group

In addition to the annual six-week outdoor jazz series, the Dallas Museum of Art presents even more live sounds with Jazz in the Atrium, featuring some of Dallas’s most talented musicians, every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hamon Atrium. Jazz in the Atrium concerts continue throughout the year as part of our Thursday Night Live! activities, which also include Sketching in the Galleries and Art Talks. The Museum is open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays and general admission is free every Thursday after 5 p.m. Promotional support for Thursday Night Live! is provided in part by Smooth Jazz 107.5 The Oasis.

Jazz concerts are one of many programs and experiences offered by the Dallas Museum of Art. The Museum remains open until midnight every third Friday with a full spectrum of programs including musical performances, gallery tours, family programs, films and other dynamic programs.
