The Munger Society: the Legacy for the DMA

The Munger Society is a group of forward-thinking individuals who, like many visionaries in the Dallas Museum of Art’s history, have included the Museum in their planned giving. The Munger Society recognizes and honors those who have thoughtfully provided for the Museum by including the Dallas Museum of Art in their estate plans. Through your planned gifts, you can ensure that this magnificent cultural treasure will continue to inspire visitors of all ages for generations to come and be able to build upon the strength of its collections and educational programs in perpetuity.

You are eligible for membership when you create a life-income gift such as a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, deferred payment gift annuity, or charitable lead trust, or if you have included the Museum in your estate planning as a beneficiary of your will, retirement plan, or life insurance policy. You may also choose to make a gift of art; as you explore the Museum's galleries you will discover artworks that have been given over the past one hundred years—these are lasting gifts. You can access specific information about making a planned gift by clicking on the links above. If you have questions, contact Libby Camp, Director of Major and Planned Giving, at 214-922-1330. If you have placed the Dallas Museum of Art in your planned gifts, please let us know. We would be honored to recognize you and your family.

Reasons to have a will
Having a will allows you to retain control over the distribution of your assets. You can provide for heirs, charities, name executors, choose guardians for minors, and minimize or eliminate your estate taxes.

Designating your bequest
It is possible to designate your bequest for a more specific area of the Dallas Museum of Art; however, unrestricted bequests are the most useful.

Benefits from planning now
By planning now, you may be able to enjoy a significant charitable income tax deduction for this tax year. Using appreciated securities to fund a planned gift offers capital-gain tax savings and may also help you reduce your estate tax liability.
