Art in Bloom 2012 "A Blooming Success"Former Metropolitan Museum of Art Floral Designer Chris Giftos gave a charming, delightful symposium address on Monday, March 26, 2012. Mr. Giftos has thirty-three years of experience designing arrangements for everything from a dinner welcoming the emperor of Japan to a gala featuring the late Princess Diana. We thank him for agreeing to share his insights with the League. The event was sold out in advance! Thank you to our sponsors: Comerica, Cebolla Fine Flowers, Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C., Ducky Bob's Event Specialists, Christie's Auction House, Katherine Phillips, and Barbara Ferm. Please click here to view our online gallery of floral arrangements created by noted Dallas designers inspired by works of art in the DMA's collection. The arrangements were featured in a silent auction during the event to raise funds for the Museum. About the Art in Bloom Luncheon and Symposium Each spring, the League hosts a Floral Symposium and Luncheon that includes a lecture by a floral design expert, a sophisticated lunch, and entertainment, such as the Betty Reiter Style Show, and opportunities to bid for the floral designer's signature arrangements. Art in Bloom provides generous support for the League’s Floral Endowment and the Museum’s exhibitions and educational programs.
