February2 Roger Boykin Trio Roger Boykin, nationally recognized multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and soloist, performs with his group. Boykin, a legend on the Dallas jazz scene, has toured with such superstars as Leon Spencer, David “Fathead” Newman, and Isaac Hayes. 9 Breggett Rideau Dallas favorite Breggett Rideau performs contemporary jazz. With her deep, resonant voice and her total command of jazz and soul, she’s one of the area’s most promising singers. 16 Joseph Vincelli Group Joseph Vincelli is known for his high-energy performances while sharing the soulful tones of a saxophone. He has toured and recorded with Buddy Miles, Ice Cube, Bobby Goldsboro, Jerry Vale, and Burt Reynolds. 23 Rick Rigsby & TRQ Over the past twenty years, electric bassist Rick Rigsby has performed or shared the stage with such greats as Johnnie Taylor, Kirk Whalum, and Billy Preston. David Ritz, author and contributing editor with Rolling Stone magazine, states, “Rick Rigsby is one of the most dynamic and prolific bassists today." March1 John Adams Quintet John Adams, accomplished acoustic and electric bassist, performs with some of the top musicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene. 8 George Florence & Friends Returning to the Dallas jazz scene, keyboardist George Florence performs contemporary jazz. 15 Keith Anderson & Full of Soul When not performing together, Keith Anderson & Full of Soul tour individually with Tower of Power, Marcus Miller, and a host of other jazz and R&B artists. Keith Anderson has recently recorded with Al Jareau, Kanye West, Erykah Badu, and others. 22 Quamon Fowler Group Saxophonist Quamon Fowler is a great talent to watch on the Dallas jazz scene. His stylistic approach consists of a mixture of straight-ahead, fusion, and bebop jazz combined with gospel, groove, and Texas Soul. 29 Glennda Hill Singer Glennda Hill, mainstay of the Balcony Club scene, puts her own style on songs from the jazz era.
