The creatures of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book come to life in this story of Max, a little boy who runs away from home into the fantastic world of his imagination. Embarking on a journey through this new land, Max meets the wild things, declares himself king, and orders, "Let the wild rumpus begin!" Directed by Spike Jonze. This film is rated PG (101 min.).

Woody Allen's time-shifting romantic comedy follows aspiring novelist Gil and his fiancé Inez on a vacation to Paris, where their engagement is put to the test by family, old friends, and Gil's nightly visits to the Paris of years before, where he discusses his novel with Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, while drinking with Pablo Picasso. Starring Oscar winner Helen Mirren, Michael Gambon, and Tim Roth, this film tells the story of love and marriage gone terribly awry over dinner. This film is rated NC-17 (124 min.). Viewer discretion is strongly advised due to nudity, strong language, and adult situations. IDs will be checked for entry to screening.

 Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World

Saturday, March 31 1:30 p.m., Horchow Auditorium Included in general admission to the Museum Unity Productions Foundation presents Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World, narrated by Academy Award–winning performer Susan Sarandon. This film takes audiences on a global journey across nine countries and 1,400 years of history, illuminating stories behind the masterworks of Islamic art and architecture. It explores themes such as Word, Space, Ornament, Color, and Water, expressed in art forms ranging from the richly ornamented palaces and monumental mosques to exquisite ceramics, carved boxes, paintings, calligraphy, and dazzling metal work. Executive producers Michael Wolfe and Alex Kronemer and director Rob Gardner present commonalities in a shared artistic heritage with the West and the East. (90 minutes)
Dallas Goethe Center Film SeriesPresented in partnership with the Dallas Goethe Center Selected Sundays 2:00 p.m.. Horchow Auditorium Included in general admission to the Museum; DMA members and Dallas Goethe Center members FREE Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and reservations are not required. Join us for a series of screenings of German films, ranging in subject and time period but commonly dealing with cultural and societal life in Germany. Ivan Eidt, University of Dallas Modern Languages and Literatures Professor and Dallas Goethe Center film programmer, will lead the audience in a discussion of the film after each screening. The Captain from Köpenick (Der Hauptmann von Köpenick) This film recounts the tale of a down-on-his-luck ex-convict shoemaker (Wilhelm Voigt) who impersonates a Prussian Guards officer, holds the mayor of a small town hostage, and successfully "confiscates" the town's treasury. This escapade, set in the Berlin suburb of Köpenick, is a true story from 1906. Carl Zuckmayer wrote a play about it, and Helmut Käutner filmed it with the actor Heinz Rühmann. It was one of the most internationally successful entertainment films of the 1950s. (89 minutes)
