Summer Seminar 2012: Teaching for Creativity

Designed for teachers of all grade levels and subjects, Summer Seminar is an immersive experience in the Dallas Museum of Art’s galleries and Center for Creative Connections. Conversations, experiences with works of art in the galleries, and creative thinking techniques will be used to create an enriching experience for teachers and models for use in the classroom. Read about the 2011 seminar experience on the DMA's Educator Blog. Goals for participants include:
  • Explore creativity through works of art and artists.
  • Participate in group and independent experiences focused on creative thinking.
  • Dialogue with colleagues about teaching for creativity and nurturing students’ abilities to think creatively.
  • Develop a lesson plan integrating works of art, creative thinking techniques, and your curricula to be implemented during the academic year.
2012 Summer Seminar dates will be determined by February 2012.
24 CPE hours; space is limited to fifteen teachers.
