One-hour Programs

The following programs are offered at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Requests for one to two classrooms may be scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday; requests for three to eight classrooms may be scheduled Monday through Thursday.

These programs last one hour; please make sure class changes and lunch schedules will not conflict with your one-hour program.

Me and My World Recommended for 1st grade
Examine people and places in art through stories, clues, and activities. This is a two-part program; please precede this Go van Gogh visit with a Me and My World tour. For information on Museum visits, click here.

Searching for Faces Recommended for 2nd grade
Look for clues—including faces, clothing, and gestures—that tell us about figures in works of art.

Stories in Art Recommended for 3rd grade
Discover and create stories by looking closely at people, places, and other details in works of art that tell its story.

Arts of Africa Recommended for 1st–3rd grade
Search for wild animals as you explore the art of sub-Saharan Africa.

Art of the Lone Star State Recommended for 4th grade
Look closely at images of Texas—from the countryside to the big city—that reveal our state and local history.

Picturing American History: Art Tells a Story  Recommended for 5th grade
Trace American history from its beginnings to the present through works of art about our nation.

African & African American Art Recommended for 4th–6th grade
Learn about traditional African art and look for similar ideas and traditions in art by African American artists.
