Today at the Museum

Dallas Public Library

The Dallas Museum of Art partners with the Dallas Public Library in a variety of ways throughout the year.

     First Tuesdays
First Tuesdays at the Dallas Museum of Art feature programming designed for children ages 5 and under and
their families. Librarians from different library branches serve as storytellers during First Tuesdays. For more
information about programs for young children or to join our mailing list, call 214-922-1312 or e-mail
     lhanson@DallasMuseumofArt.org.

     Mayor's Summer Reading Program
The Museum promotes the books and programs highlighted in the Mayor's Summer Reading Program during its
     family events.

     Go van Gogh
Go van Gogh® brings art programs to participating Dallas Public Library branches each summer. Museum
volunteers present one-hour programs featuring images of art from the Museum’s collections or special
exhibitions and an art activity. Families with children ages 6-12 are encouraged to participate.

     Contests
Museum staff participates in Dallas Public Library art competition panels, including the Hispanic Heritage
Children’s Drawing and Cover Art competitions. Contact María Teresa G. Pedroche, Head of Family Experiences
and Community Engagement, at mpedroche@DallasMuseumofArt.org for more information on these contests.

Friends of the Dallas Public Library
Friends of the Dallas Public Library have consistently provided financial and cross-promotional support for Arts
& Letters Live throughout its nineteen-year history.
